Everton, Spurs and Bolton are all believed to be tracking Serbia ace Nikola Zigic, who will feature against Republic of Ireland on Saturday.
The three Premier League clubs are understood to have flown scouts over to Dublin to check on Zigic.
The giant frontman, 6ft 7in, will line-up against Republic of Ireland in Giovanni Trapattoni's first official game at the helm, aware that he could be playing for a move to England.
Zigic has endured a difficult past campaign in Spain with Valencia, who are ready to reshape their squad in the summer, with news of his possible availability having alerted the English trio.
It is expected that all three will be represented at the game, with Zigic seen as being ideal for English football given his physical prowess.
A three-time Serbian player of the year, Zigic has in the past spoken of a desire to one day ply his trade in England.
And his dream could soon be realised should the former Red Star Belgrade and Racing Santander hitman fit the criteria of those English clubs seeking a recognised goalscorer in the summer.
