David Beckham received his first MLS yellow card in the 67th minute. He collided with New York's Dave van den Bergh after van den Bergh passed the ball. A cascade of boos followed the announcement. The yellow card was Beckham's first since the SuperLiga semifinal Aug. 15 against D.C. United.
In Santa Clara, Robbie Rogers scored two goals and the Eastern Division-leading Columbus Crew scored three times in the final 20 minutes to win its fifth straight game, 3-2 over the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night.
Trailing 1-0 Rogers scored in the 73rd and 81st minutes to give the Crew (6-1) the lead for good.
In Houston, Dwayne De Rosario converted a penalty kick in the 87th minute to lead the Houston Dynamo to their first win of the season, a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Saturday night.
Colorado's Ugo Ihemelu was issued a yellow card in the 86th minute for an intentional handball in the box. De Rosario took the penalty kick and fired a shot into the left corner to give the Dynamo the lead.
In Salt Lake City, Kyle Beckerman scored the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute and Real Salt Lake stayed unbeaten at home with a 2-1 win over FC Dallas on Saturday night.
Beckerman softly one-touched a chip pass from Andy Williams through the legs of FC Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala for Real Salt Lake (2-3-2), which has two wins and two ties in its four home games this season.
