LONDON (AP) - David Noble scored a 25-meter winning goal in the third minute of injury time, and Bristol City won 2-1 at Crystal Palace on Saturday in the playoffs for promotion to the Premier League.
In the first leg at Selhurst Park, Louis Carey finished off a well-worked free kick to put the visitors ahead in the 53rd minute. But he gave away an 87th-minute penalty, which Ben Watson converted to make it 1-1.
Noble's spectacular winner into the top corner of the net gives Bristol City a great chance to advance to the playoff final at Wembley against either Hull City or Watford, who play their first leg on Sunday.
The winner of the May 26 playoff final will go up along with West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City, who captured the two automatic promotion spots.
