SAINT-DENIS, France (AP) - Sidney Govou scored the only goal in extra time and Lyon beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 Saturday to win the French Cup and claim its first league-cup double.
Lyon defended for most of the match, but after PSG missed a host of chances, Govou broke the stalemate in the 102nd minute.
He chested down Karim Benzema's cross, eluded defender Sylvain Armand and beat goalkeeper Jerome Alonzo from close range.
Having won a seventh straight league title a week ago, Lyon won the French Cup for the fourth time and first since 1973. PSG was looking for a cup double after winning the League Cup in March.
"It's great for Lyon, which has waited so long for this double," Lyon manager Alain Perrin said. "It was a very tight final. PSG were very aggressive. We allowed them to start the match better than us. We were a bit timid."
PSG, which has won the French Cup seven times, did all the early running.
"We tried hard, and we disrupted Lyon's game," PSG manager Paul Le Guen said. "We were not far from our best level, but it was not enough. I would have liked us to be more efficient."
Lyon defender Anthony Reveillere cleared Pauleta's shot off the line and Armand had a headed goal ruled offside.
Lyon goalkeeper Gregory Coupet twice denied Pauleta with saves and PSG midfielder Gregory Bourillon hit the crossbar with a header as PSG dominated the first half.
PSG defender Mario Yepes hit the crossbar with a header in the 63rd, and Lyon had to wait until the 68th for its first clear chance when substitute Mathieu Bodmer's shot was blocked by Brazilian defender Ceara.
Coupet saved Lyon again in the closing moments of regular time with a low stop from Amara Diane.
As with the League Cup final two months ago, some of PSG's supporters again were involved in incidents outside of the stadium.
About 300 supporters, making their way to the stadium without a police escort, racially abused black passers-by at the Saint-Michel train station with monkey chants, and chanted racial epithets.
One group of about 10 tried to attack a lone black traveler on a stationary train waiting to depart - forcing other passengers to intervene and force the doors shut.
Two PSG followers were arrested at Chatelet, the next station stop on the way to Stade de France, after a clash with riot police, leaving one of the PSG followers bleeding from a head wound as he was pinned to the floor.
There were also scuffles outside the Stade de France.
