Gattuso staying at AC Milan

Gennaro Gattuso will not be leaving AC Milan, according to his agent.

There has been speculation that the tough-tackling midfielder will leave the San Siro club at the end of the season for a possible move abroad.

However, the 30-year-old's representative denied that this was the case and that the Italy international would honor his contract which runs until 2011.

He said: "All he is thinking about at the moment is making sure that his team reaches the Champions League.

"He has a very long contract with the Rossoneri and I can confirm that he has every intention to respect it."

Coach Carlo Ancelotti has also maintained that he has no desire to see one of his most experienced players end his 11-year stay and claimed that he was far too an important member of the team to be allowed to go.

Gattuso, who got his big break in Scotland with Rangers, has had a below-par season by his usual high standards but has been back to something near his best in recent outings.
