Serie A Roundup, Apr. 27

MILAN, Italy (AP) - Julio Ricardo Cruz and Marco Materazzi scored in Inter Milan's 2-1 victory over Cagliari on Sunday that pushed the Nerazzurri to within one win of the Serie A title.

The victory kept Inter six points ahead of AS Roma, which defeated Torino 4-1, with three games left in the season. Inter will win its 16th Italian championship if it defeats city rival AC Milan next Sunday as it has a superior head-to-head record with Roma.

Filippo Inzaghi scored a hat trick in AC Milan's 4-1 road victory over Livorno and has eight goals in the last four games.

Cruz put Inter ahead in the 22nd minute with his second goal in two games after failing to score since December. Defender Marco Materazzi made it 2-0 with a header in the 82th while Cagliari's Davide Biondini scored in extra time.

"We played a good game and created lots of chances," Inter coach Roberto Mancini said. "I'm tired right now and will celebrate when we have three more points."

Inter has 81 points, Roma 75 and Juventus 70.

Amantino Mancini scored twice with Mirko Vucinic adding a goal and Davide Pizarro converting a penalty for Roma against visiting Torino. Nicola Ventola scored for Torino.

Juventus trounced Lazio 5-2 with Alessandro Del Piero grabbing a goal to increase pressure on Italy coach Roberto Donadoni to pick him for the European Championship. Defender Giorgio Chiellini added two goals for Juventus with David Trezeguet and Mauro Camoranesi also contributing.

Also Sunday, it was: Fiorentina 2, Sampdoria 2; Genoa 0, Empoli 1; Napoli 0, Siena 0; Palermo 0, Atalanta 0; Reggina 2, Parma 1; and Udinese 2, Catania 1.
